Restoration Services
Cavallo Inc. was founded in New York City in 1911
by Stefano and Louise Cavallo to serve the upholstery and drapery decorator trade. The business grew significantly when they used their European background and contacts to establish themselves as importers of fine antiques and reproductions.

Most of the collection they assembled featured imports from England, France and Italy. The company survived the Great Depression and two World Wars. When Stefan, their son, became president of S. Cavallo, Inc. in 1950, a manufacturing facility was set up to reproduce classic furniture using S. Cavallo's artisans by copying antiques from the Cavallo collection.

The "Mirror Frame" or more correctly "Looking Glass" business was a minor segment at the start, but eventually grew to be a most significant factor when Stephen J. Cavallo, grandson of the founder, joined the firm in 1963. The looking glass production was expanded and featured under the company name "Mirror Fair."

A complete factory facility was established to fulfill any glass or mirror requirement. Carvers and artisans were enlisted or trained in the specialized skills required. As a result, Mirror Fair today enjoys an international reputation for its mirror frame production as well as for its Glass and Mirror Specialty Service. This service encompasses all facets of antique glass and mirror repair, restoration and decoration, as well as the creation of all-glass furniture, interiors and accessories to any custom design.

The complete line of finished classic mirrors is on permanent display at the New York City showroom at 1495 Third Avenue (84th Street) and can be seen twice a year at the High Point Market, formerly The International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, North Carolina at the Mirror Fair showroom. The current catalog is easily accessible on the internet and samples and estimates are available on request.
